Summit Township:
Butler-Freeport Trail
In Summit Township, not far from the site of the Black Cross,
there is a trail that is rumored to be haunted.  Legend has it
that you can hear children's laughter at night.  The trail leads
back to some old railroad tracks, and it's said you can also
see a phantom train's lights as it's coming down the tracks.

Four of our members decided to check this out.  It was late
and already dark when we got to the trail.  We parked and
headed back to collect our evidence.  We didn't hear any
children, nor did we see any train.  However, Paula
commented on this area feeling a bit "spooky", and Dennis'
voice was heard on the EVP saying he felt a tug on his shirt
when there was nobody standing near him.

We reviewed the data, expecting to find nothing interesting.
Much to our amazement, Tom captured 3 pictures with
possible ecto
-mist, and Pete captured one image of a
possible ecto.
The temperature was fairly warm, too warm
for it to have been our breath.

Tom went back the following night with a
few others.  This
time, he only had one photo that may contain ecto, and it was
taken while he was standing at his car, aiming his camera at
the entrance of the trail.

It is our opinion that there may be something going on out
on that trail, however we will need to investigate further.

The beginning of the trail
The first of 5 pix of possible ecto.  You
can see Pete far up front, and the
ecto appearing in front of Paula as
they walk up the trail.
Second shot of ecto, taken while Pete
and Tom were recording for EVPs.
Third pic of ecto, taken in same area
as the last one, during EVP recording.
Fourth pic of possible ecto, taken by
Pete while standing near Tom.
Fifth photo of possible ecto, taken the
second night, when Tom went back to
gather more evidence.  This time, it
appeared near the opening of the trail.
