MOTHMAN

Mothman.  That about says it all, doesn't it?  However, in case you're not familiar with what that
really means, here's what you need to know.  It "officially" started back on November 15, 1966 in the
town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, a quaint little town on the Ohio River.  It remains much today
as it did 40 years ago when four young adults were taking a drive out in what's commonly know as
the TNT Area.  This is a place where in the early 20th century the U.S. Government manufactured
and stored explosives.  Approximately 100 "igloos" were built to secretly house and store these
products.  The were camouflaged with dirt and grass, to remain hidden from any air surveillance by
spy planes.  However, after World War II, it was no longer needed.  The Government sold off parts of
the land to companies and industries, some of which included studying biochemistry.  This would
be a night that would change their lives...forever.  For what these people saw, was not something to
be forgotten.  "It was about seven feet tall.  It had wings that were visible on it's back, the tips of the
wings could be seen above its shoulders.  The body of it was like a slender, muscular man, and was
flesh-colored.  It's wings were ashen white in color...the eyes simply hypnotized you when you look
directly into them."  This was the description given by one witness that night.

This would only be the beginning, because for the next 13 months the town of Point Pleasant and
the surrounding areas would experience a flap of paranormal events.  It Included over 100 eye
witness reports of Mothman, as well as UFO sightings, and men in black.  Some believe that
Mothman simply disappeared after the night of December 15, 1967, when the Silver Bridge
collapsed into the Ohio River.  However, for most of us, he...or they...are still out there.  For even as
recently as 2005, there have been sightings in the mid-west and in the south.
