Thanks to our Case Manager, Bryan, we were able to secure an
investigation at the Miller Theater at Slippery Rock University.  We
have been working with the University for quite a few years now
with the
Old Stone House, so doing the theater was a natural
evolution in our relationship with the university.  Even though we
were not the first group to investigate it.

We were joined by our friend Rosemary, who so happened to be in
town with us already this weekend for a private case.  Our team of
eight - Tom, Bryan, Rosemary, Jaimie, Scott, Maureen, Amy and Jeff
- arrived at the theater in the evening and met with our contact
from the theater department.  Since he had been there for many
years, he was very knowable about the purported activity at the
theater and had even had some experiences of his own.
Information which we will not post here to maintain his privacy, just
in case someone reading this may know of whom we are speaking.

We were able to learn about the
various type of paranormal activity
that has been reported
at the theater.  Such as;  Unexplained
noises and banging, lights flickering off during play rehearsals, a
T.V. turning itself on, an apparition of a girl in the scene shop along
with laughing & footsteps, footsteps on the stage, an apparition
seen walking down on of the aisles, footsteps going up the steps in
the main stairwell, and of course, being haunted by the ghost of
Emma Guffey Miller, the woman whom the theater was named after.

Once our walk through was complete, we began setting up our
cameras and equipment for the investigation.
Behind the stage is the scene shop, an area where they build the sets.  It's a large work shop,
essentially.  We were doing some EVP work
, along with some ITC aided by one of our K-II meters, in a
spot where an apparition of a little girl was spotted in 2008.  Surprisingly enough, we did get a hit on
the K-II meter.  Was it just a random EMF spike?  One can never truly know for certain when dealing
with the K-II, however the location we chose was free of EMF, with the exception of normal
background EM of approximately .2
to .5 milligaus.  Later on, in this same location, Bryan was trying
out the flashlight tapping technique commonly seen on a certain paranormal T.V. show.
Now we know
that this technique is rather controversial, and we don't count any results as "evidence", but we gave
it a shot and got what might be considered a response when the flashlight was "tapped" on when
verbally prompted to
do so.

While on the stage doing some EVP work with Rosemary, Maureen experienced what felt like
someone touching the back of her head while gently rubbing against her back.  Scott heard a rustling
sound in
the green room when he went in there to change the disc in the DVD camera.  There was no
one else in there at that time.

Bryan did
get one interesting photo early in the night, while we were still setting up our equipment.
Tom was walking down the aisle carrying a camera mounted on a tripod and Bryan was
walking a little
ways behind him.  When snapping off a few random photos from his digital camera, Bryan later noticed
an odd anomaly in one of the images.  It appeared to be an ecto mist
that appeared near Tom, as he
was walking.  This photo is posted at the end of this page.  Since Bryan took the photo while he was
walking, there were a few light streaks created in the photo by the red Exit signs and a green light
bulb on the stage - please ignore these...they are NOT paranormal.

Towards the end of the investigation Tom, Jaimie, Scott and Maureen were sitting in the rear c
enter
of the auditorium seating area.  Just sitting and observing, they h
eard some banging, or thumping,
sounds coming from what sounded like the lower left (if you are facing the stage) of the auditorium.
Whether this was paranormal, or a normal sound in the building, we could not tell.

Possible Photo Evidence
Photo taken by Bryan
The Miller Theater was an interesting investigation for us, and, the first theater that we have done.
Aside from the one hit that we got on the K-II meter, Maureen having the feeling of being touched
while on the stage, some possibly unexplained sounds, and the photo that Bryan took, we didn't turn
up any concrete evidence of paranormal activity.  Rosemary had hopes of getting some
communication through Frank's Box, however, we didn't get any viable results with that this night.

Is the theater haunted?  Possibly.  We would definitely like to return someday.
