The Knickerbocker
House
The knickerbocker House was built in 1882 as the Arnold
House, but spent most of its existence as the Arlington
Hotel.  It was abandoned and sat empty for many years until
the new owners purchased it in 2005.  They began
renovations on the deteriorated building and began
experiencing unusual activity.

There are many eye witness accounts of this activity.  The
following is some of the reported goings-on.

* A little girl was seen in the kitchen.

* A man was seen in the upstairs back bedroom by the alley.

* A temperature anomaly has been recorded in the front left
room on the third floor.  The temperature went from 61 to 74
degrees on the meter.

* The sound of footsteps walking and running have been
heard by multiple persons on the stairs between the 2nd and
3rd floors.

* The sound of fast running footsteps have been heard
coming from behind people on the stairs between the 1st
and 2nd floors.

* The doorknob on the door near the back of the dining room
rattles and was extremely cold to the touch.

* An audible sigh was heard in Room 17.

* A shadow person was witnessed crossing in front of the
wall in the back room on the 3rd floor.

* Scratching noises have been heard coming from the red
door that use to lead to an opera house on the 3rd floor.
Cold spots and dizziness have been felt in this area as well.

* A feeling of being watched in the kitchen is felt.

* A man supposedly committed suicide in Room 17.

* A woman allegedly hung herself on the 3rd floor.

* A man died in the front upstairs room of the Arlington Hotel
in 1963.

Because of these accounts, and upon the recommendation
of another paranormal group, we decided to check out the
Knickerbocker.  We spent a great deal of time on all floors,
even though there were no reports of activity on the 1st or
2nd floors (other than on the stairs).  We didn't record
anything unusual on those floors, but one member did
report
seeing a cloud-like object move through the foyer area on
the 3rd floor.
However, no one else could back that up.   In
the basement, there are low ceilings, small doorways, and an
uneven dirt floor.  Although these all contributed to throwing
balance off a little, we couldn't confirm anything paranormal.
We did obtain 2 EMF spikes in the basement that we could
not recreate.

We need more time to gather data in this beautiful house to
render any opinion on possible paranormal activity.  Please
feel free to send us any information you may have on the
activity or history of this house.
